Wonka

The new release of Wonka the movie has ignited everyone’s imagination and delight once again. With the combination of this engaging story line, characters and magic, Willy Wonka won our hearts.

Wonka had a slightly different flavour to him in this film. He was a lot sweeter with a big dollop of compassion, an overflowing cup of love, a tablespoon of sentiment and not to leave out the most important ingredient of all, lots and lots of magic.

You will instantly fall in love with Willy, played brilliantly by Timothée Chalamet and literally feel his passion for chocolate or is it the chocolate? The story line creates a depth of humanity that you don’t see in the other Wonka movies. It’s, witty, clever, magical, sad, happy and even a bit politically incorrect, mixed together with an outstanding cast of actors.

What I love and admire about Roald Dalh and his story, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory is his ability as an author to transport you to a place where we all want to be, nothing is too weird, crazy or magical. His stories allow you to believe that anything is possible.

Wonka the movie encompassed all of this and gave you a fabulous prequel to Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.

I think subconsciously my story Lollypop Stew 🍭🍬 was inspired by Willy Wonka, as my Lollypop Stew recipe would be a solid addition to the story line. As my book Lollypop Stew makes children smile, my smile was fixed throughout Wonka, leaving me with a familiar warmth. I am so grateful that Roald Dalh inspired me to tape into my magical place and live out my childhood dreams through words and imagination.
