Why I Believe We Should Give Our Money & Time to Help Others

Life moves fast, and it’s easy to get caught up in our own goals. But one thing I’ve realised is that helping others, whether it’s giving money, time, or effort, it creates a sense of purpose that nothing else can. And when it comes to giving, something like tithing offers a framework for doing it consistently. Here’s why I think giving is so important.

1. It Strengthens Connections

When I give, whether through tithing to my church or supporting a cause, it makes me feel more connected to those around me. It builds community and reminds me that we’re all in this together. These moments strengthen relationships and make life feel more meaningful.

2. It Puts Things in Perspective

Contributing to others’ well-being helps put my own problems into perspective. Tithing is a reminder that there’s more to life than just focusing on my own needs. It shifts my mindset toward gratitude, even when times are tough.

3. It’s Deeply Fulfilling

Whether through tithing or volunteering, giving brings a sense of purpose and fulfillment. There’s something special about knowing you’ve helped make someone’s life a little better. It’s not just about donating; it’s about being part of something bigger.

4. It Feels Good

Helping others makes *me* feel better, too. Studies show that acts of generosity reduce stress and boost happiness. Tithing, in particular, creates a sense of peace, knowing I’m contributing to a higher purpose.

5. It Inspires More Giving

Generosity spreads. When I give, whether it’s through tithing or another form, I see others around me inspired to do the same. It creates a ripple effect of good, and that’s how real change starts, one act of kindness inspiring another.

6. It’s a Responsibility

For me, tithing is more than a choice, it’s a responsibility. If I have the means to give, I feel like I should. Whether it’s 10% or more through tithing or just my time, every contribution matters and can make a big difference in someone’s life.

Helping others through tithing or any form of giving reminds us of what truly matters. It strengthens our bonds, brings us fulfillment, and makes the world a little bit better. And often, the act of giving ends up benefiting us just as much. So, whenever you can, give, it’s worth it.

Give it a go 🙏
