To be or not to be

Have you ever asked yourself who am I, what is my purpose? I’m sure most of you have at some stage of your life. It can be a daunting question, confronting yourself with who am I, am I enough?

From 4 years old I knew I was going to become a nurse and nothing was going to get in the way of that purpose. I absolutely loved nursing, then I became a mother.

Suddenly, my who am I, and, what is my purpose changed. I knew then my purpose was motherhood. I have always put 100 % into anything I am passionate about, so motherhood became my full time role. I was at the pinnacle of my career, getting offers of my dream jobs. My heart had shifted and I knew who I was to be. I was a mother. I have never regretted this decision and even though controversial, I stood by my decision and embraced it. As most mothers know, this job is a thankless job, it doesn’t pay well, there’s no super, sick leave, holidays or bonuses. Knowing this, I decided to approach motherhood as a job and my boss was God. Everything I did I knew he was watching. No task felt mundane, I felt valued and appreciated just knowing He was cheering me on. I know this choice isn’t for everyone and that’s ok. Whatever and whenever you have this chat to yourself make sure you’re ready to hear the answer, it might take you by surprise.

Be assured, you are where you are meant to be right now, you are living your purpose, and you definitely are enough, just be.
