Mistaken Identity

What or who defines who you are?
‘Inspire, Learn, Grow.’ This is what God wants for us all, but when we are caught up in this painful world of rejection these encouraging words just don’t shine through our lives. So how can we break free from this spirit of rejection and find our real identity?

It seems that everybody has experienced rejection in their lives to some degree. I know I have and it slowly weaved it’s tentacle’s into my everyday life, suffocating me with feelings of inadequacies and deep sadness.

The spirit of rejection attacks the very person we are; it destroys our self esteem, therefore stifling our God given purpose in life.

This is not what God intended for us, actually it’s the complete opposite. God tells us in John 17:23, ‘that we are created for a purpose and we are His precious child.’

Many of us have accepted this mistaken identity, we have allowed our identify to be defined by social media and other outward influences, even ourselves.

God is the only trusted source of our identity. We must only look to Him and ignore the lies of the devil. When we look to God for our identity we will be rejection proof.

God promises to never leave or forsake us, so when our identity is based upon Gods word, we know for certain that we will never be rejected.

The first step in revealing our true identity is by forgiving those who have rejected us. Only then can we be free from the all consuming damaging thoughts that rejection manifests.
