There are moments in life when I pause, look around, and realise just
how much God’s hand is at work. It’s not always in the grand, thunderous
ways we sometimes expect, but in the quiet, intricate details that
weave through everyday life. The more I notice, the more I’m amazed.
God’s presence is constant, and His love, creativity, and grace are boundless.
Holly
was only 19 years old when she tragically died. I’ll tell you a
beautiful story that happened yesterday when I was dressing her family
for Holly’s funeral. I dressed Holly through Bubble & Squeak, my
free formal gown hire ministry, three years ago in my favourite pink
princess gown. It was my pleasure and honour to gift this gown to her
family to bury her in, along with a tiara and jewellery.
I was
also very privileged to dress all of Holly’s family for the funeral:
five ladies and a Holly’s nephew. While Holly’s youngest sister was
trying on dresses, she noticed a gown that looked very similar to one
Holly and herself had chosen for a formal Holly attended. She checked a
photo and realised the gown was exactly the same. We couldn’t believe
it. Her youngest sister decided she would wear this gown for her formal
in honor of her sister Holly. It fitted her perfectly, her eyes shown
with pride. Then the penny dropped. Holly had donated this gown last
year. This was the gown Holly had worn!!Sam, her sister, was in tears
and very emotional. We felt Holly’s presence in that room yesterday.
Nothing is a coincidence. God had planned this to bless Holly’s baby
sister and her family with the gift of love and presence. It was such a beautiful experience for Sam, her mum and her three sisters, and me; a true miracle.
Life
is full of uncertainties, but God’s faithfulness never wavers. There
have been times when I couldn’t see the path ahead, yet He always
provided. It’s amazing to look back and see how His plan unfolded; often
in ways I never anticipated. Trusting Him requires faith, but He always
proves that He’s worthy of that trust.
God’s wonders surround
us, but how often do we take the time to notice? It’s easy to get caught
up in the busyness of life and miss the miracles happening right before
our eyes. But when we slow down and pay attention, we see that His
fingerprints are everywhere. From the beauty of nature to the
intricacies of our relationships, from the quiet answers to prayer to
the overwhelming sense of His presence, God never ceases to amaze.
So
today, I challenge myself and you: let’s take a moment to marvel at His
goodness. Let’s thank Him for the ways He shows up, both big and small.
Because when we truly open our eyes to His work, we can’t help but
stand in awe of a God who never ceases to amaze.
