Are you superstitious?

Most of us will say no, not me, but when I really thought about it I believe we all are superstitious in someway, even if it’s unconscious.

I have always been surrounded by superstition, as I was born on Friday the 13th and everyone who knew this would shudder in fear, ‘oh no they would say, you are so unlucky!!!’ I’d laugh, and say, ‘it’s the best day of the year, I was born .’ 😂😂

Superstition is a belief or way of behaving that is based on fear of the unknown and faith in magic or luck. As I am a Christian I don’t believe in any of this. Although I do subconsciously fear if I don’t pray on a long car trip we might have an accident or if I don’t pray for my family something may happen to them. So I am superstitious and I didn’t even know it.

Superstition has been around for centuries and practiced in all cultures. The main superstitions are of course ;
Friday the 13th; Walking under a ladder;
black cat crossing one's path; breaking a mirror. The list goes on. We fear if we engage in any of these activities, something terrible is going to happen to us and we will experience back luck Weird right???

My son plays cricket and boy the superstition dial is turned up to high; never wash your whites, put your left sock on first, lucky numbers. Have you watched Steve Smith? He has an adjustment ritual. 😂How they play has nothing to do with their ability 😂😂

Superstitions can be harmless but for some people it actually makes them make different choices. In some places hotel buildings omit level 13 and some airlines don’t even have a have isle 13 😱

Gee whiz, imagine how my parents felt when I was born on Friday the 13th, I came out with blood and guts all over me with a head full of bright red hair, screaming, as my father tells me!!! I’m glad they didn’t drop me and run 😂 serious bad luck 😱
I’m sure my dad knocked on wood straight away 😂 we humans are interesting people that really make life a lot more complicated than it needs to be, but you can never say we aren’t interesting. So have a think about it. Do you have any superstitions? Don’t just shrug it off as no, not me, I bet when you think about it, you absolutely do.
