A God Appointment on the Train
This morning, on our way to the Brisbane Motorhome & Caravan Expo, I had what I can only describe as a God appointment.
While we were waiting for the train, I felt a quiet nudge in my spirit — a whisper from God, asking me to pray for anyone experiencing grief. So I did. I didn’t know who or why, but I simply obeyed.
Not long after, once we were on the train, an elderly woman approached and asked for help to reach her destination. She explained she had amnesia and had been lost for hours. She was visibly confused and overwhelmed. I reassured her that we would help her get to where she needed to go.
As we sat together, she gently shared that her father had just passed away — and in that moment, she broke down in tears. Without thinking, I reached out and held her close, telling her that just earlier that morning, I had prayed for anyone grieving. We both knew then that this wasn’t a coincidence. This was God, showing up in the ordinary.
God truly sees us. He knows what we need before we even ask. I was able to pray for her, to comfort her, and most importantly, to remind her that she wasn’t alone. We made sure she got on the right train, safely heading to her destination.
As we waved goodbye, I felt a deep peace — knowing that God had been right there with us. In the middle of a train ride, through a simple act of compassion, heaven had touched earth.
